Whether you are been around church for years or you are just beginning to check out faith, First Christian Church intends to provide you with an experience that connects you to God in a meaningful way. The service begins at 10:30am on Sunday mornings.
How Do I Get to First Christian Church?
FCC is located on the east side of the Fox River, minutes from Downtown Elgin. Situated on Summit St, you'll find FCC is easily accessible from anywhere in the Chicagoland area.
What Can I Expect When I Visit?
It is our prayer that from the moment you walk through the door at FCC you will feel at home. Our greeters will be poised and ready to give directions or answer any questions you may have. If you have children, you'll want to take advantage of our safe and secure children's services designed just for them.
As you enter the worship center, our ushers will welcome you, hand you our information-filled weekend worship program and direct you to your seat.
Where Do I Take My Children?
You'll find first-class programs for your children, from birth through 5th grade. Our Nursery and Preschool, located at the far end of our educational wing, offers a warm, colorful, and caring environment for your little ones.
Your children, from kindergarten through 5th grade, will be at home in our KIDSTIME room which is also located in our Education wing. You can follow the signs to the check- in table. Each Sunday, your girls and boys will experience an engaging mix of games, music and videos, created to present God's truth in fun and innovative ways. They’ll be dragging you back for more.
What Do I Wear?
At FCC, you’ll see as much variety in dress as you see in people. Some folks wear T-shirts and jeans. Others wear the more traditional Sunday attire. Simply come as you are!
Will I Fit In?
FCC is made up of a pretty diverse group of people; you will find different races, generations, family structures, and economic statuses. No matter whom you are or what your background is, we’re certain you’ll blend right in.
Am I Going To Be Asked To Give Money?
No. We do have an offering every week, but it is an opportunity for those who call FCC their church home to support the work that God is doing here. If you are visiting or checking out faith, you’re under no obligation to give when the plates are passed.
What Happens During Communion in a Worship Service?
The Lord’s Supper (communion) is the memorial Jesus gave to remind us of the price He paid – He gave His life - for our sins. The Lord’s Table is open to all Christ-followers. This special time in our service orients us to the past (it has been forgiven), to the present (the unity we share with each other) and the future (anticipating the grand communion with God and others in a new creation). All who love and serve him are invited to eat the bread, drink the juice, and enjoy a time of quiet meditation. However, as with the offering, you are under no obligation to participate.
